Book 11/52 of My #52Books52Weeks Bucket List Challenge

This was one of those books I’d always wanted to read but never got around to. Life got busy, other books took priority, and it just sat there on my mental “I’ll get to it one day” list.

Well, thanks to the #52Books52Weeks Bucket List Challenge I set for myself, I finally picked it up—and I’m so glad I did!

Written as a fable, The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari follows the story of Julian Mantle, a high-flying lawyer who seems to have it all—money, status, success—until he burns out, sells everything (including his Ferrari), and goes on a journey of self-discovery and enlightenment.

At its core, this book is about prioritizing what truly matters—happiness, purpose, and fulfillment—over material success.

Key Takeaways from The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari

  • Success Without Fulfillment is Failure – Chasing money and status means nothing if you’re miserable. True success is about balance and purpose.

  • Master Your Mind, Master Your Life – The quality of your thoughts determines the quality of your life. Train your mind like an athlete trains their body.

  • Your Time is Your Most Valuable Asset – We all have 24 hours in a day—use them wisely on things that truly matter.

  • Small, Daily Habits Create a Legendary Life – Big transformations don’t happen overnight. Daily rituals shape your future.

  • Happiness is an Inside Job – No car, house, or title will bring lasting happiness. Find joy in the journey, not just the destination.

How The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari Relates to Living a Bucket List Life

  1. A Bucket List is About Experiences, Not Just Achievements – It’s not about ticking off items just to say you did—it’s about how those experiences shape you.

  2. Mindset is Everything – If you don’t believe you can live your dream life, you won’t. A positive, growth-oriented mindset is key.

  3. Time is Precious—Spend it Wisely – If something is on your Bucket List, don’t wait. Make it happen now.

  4. Your Daily Habits Determine Your Future – The way you spend today shapes what’s possible for you tomorrow.

  5. Happiness Comes from Purpose & Passion – The best Bucket Lists aren’t just about adventure—they’re about aligning your life with what truly matters.

This book was a great reminder to slow down, be intentional, and focus on what truly makes life meaningful.
