How Would You Go On The 'Alone' Reality TV Show?

How Would You Go On The 'Alone' Reality TV Show?

November 22, 20232 min read

I think I'm a bit late to the "Alone" party here. The "Alone" reality TV show has just aired here in Australia. March 2023 to be precise. Premiering with 10 Australians as contestants, it has a lot of people talking and it seems that every second person I speak to is a fan. I don't watch a lot of TV...my bad. But now, I'm hooked. I've become (what I call) a 'couch survivalist'. That is, a survival expert...from the couch! Easy for me to say what the contestants are doing right and wrong when I'm not in it, right?

Yes, "Alone" is an Ultimate Challenge Bucket List item for sure! It begs the question..."Is being on a reality TV show on your Bucket List?" The show "Alone" immerses participants in the harsh wilderness and it really pushes their limits. They are forced to survive by living off the land using the 10 items they decided to take in with them and they have to document their journey alone using the 20kg of camera gear with them. Since 2015, it has enthralled US audiences, inspiring countless individuals to add "Be On A Reality TV Show" to their Bucket Lists.

While watching, I've pondered these 10 thought-provoking questions about conquering "Alone". Please consider them for yourself too:

  1. Would you want to be on a reality TV show?

  2. How would you mentally prepare for solitude and isolation on "Alone" to overcome this challenge?

  3. What unique skills give you an advantage on the show?

  4. How would you strategize and prioritize tasks to outlast competitors in the grueling conditions?

  5. Can you anticipate fears or challenges in the remote wilderness, and how would you overcome them?

  6. What's your go-to strategy for procuring food and sustaining yourself?

  7. How would you embrace the physical demands and extreme conditions on "Alone"?

  8. What personal qualities or strengths would help you thrive in this challenging environment?

  9. How would you approach the psychological and emotional aspect of being alone?

  10. Reflecting on this challenge, how does it align with your current Bucket List's spirit of overcoming fears and testing yourself?

I think "Alone" would be right up there at the pinnacle of Bucket List Ultimate Challenges. Seizing the chance to push your limits, showcase your strengths, and embark on a transformative journey. There needs to be more of this in our lives. For me, it's made me question my list. Scan it for the Ultimate Challenges that already exist on there and add even bigger ones to it.

Has the show or this blog made you question yours?

What can you just say 'YES' to and discover yourself along the journey?

What have you always wondered?

Where does your potential lay?

Where can you push your limits even further?
