Book 8/52 of My #52Books52Weeks Bucket List Challenge
This wasn’t my first time reading The Richest Man in Babylon—it was actually my second time—but I thought it was so valuable that it deserved a spot in my #52Books52Weeks challenge.
Originally published in 1926, this book delivers timeless financial wisdom through a series of parables set in ancient Babylon. And while the language might be old-school, the principles are just as relevant today—especially if you want more financial freedom to tick off your Bucket List.
The book’s core message? Wealth isn’t about luck—it’s about discipline, smart decisions, and taking control of your financial future.
"Pay Yourself First" – Save at least 10% of what you earn before spending on anything else. Wealth starts with consistent saving.
"Make Your Gold Work for You" – Don’t just save—invest. Money sitting idle does nothing. Put it to work so it grows over time.
"Live Below Your Means" – Financial freedom doesn’t come from earning more; it comes from keeping and growing what you earn.
"Seek Wise Advice" – Learn from those who have successfully built wealth. Don’t take financial advice from broke people!
"Protect Your Wealth" – Don’t gamble your money away on get-rich-quick schemes. Invest in things you understand and trust.
Financial Freedom = More Bucket List Adventures – If you want to travel, take time off, or chase big experiences, you need financial security. This book lays out the exact steps to get there.
Consistent Saving = More Options – Small, disciplined savings compound over time, giving you the ability to fund your dreams.
Smart Investments Create Long-Term Freedom – Whether it’s real estate, stocks, or a business, putting your money to work lets you enjoy life instead of stressing over money.
Wealth is Built Over Time, Not Overnight – Just like ticking off a Bucket List, building financial freedom is a journey of small, consistent steps.
You’re in Control of Your Financial Future – Wealth doesn’t happen by accident. You must take intentional steps to create it—just like you do with your life goals.
Reading The Richest Man in Babylon again reinforced something I’ve always believed: Money is a tool that, when used wisely, creates more freedom and experiences. Whether it’s traveling the world, taking time off, or pursuing passion projects, financial discipline gives you the power to live life on your terms.
So, here’s my challenge to you: What’s one financial habit you can start today that will bring you closer to your Bucket List goals?
Let’s build wealth, create freedom, and tick off life’s big goals! 🚀
Stay tuned for Book 9 of 52 as I continue this adventure of learning and growth!
