Book 35/52 of My #52Books52Weeks Bucket List Challenge

This book came highly recommended by so many entrepreneurs I know, so I had to dive in. And wow—this book is ground-breaking!

In fact, it was through this book that I landed a mentor in the USA who has helped me think even bigger. That alone made it worth reading!

Who Are the Authors?

📌 Dan Sullivan – One of the world’s top entrepreneurial coaches and the founder of Strategic Coach, a program designed to help high-level entrepreneurs maximize their potential.

📌 Dr. Benjamin Hardy – A psychologist & best-selling author, known for writing books that take deep research and make it practical. He also co-authored Who Not How and The Gap and The Gain with Dan Sullivan.

Together, they break down why thinking 10X is actually easier than thinking 2X—and once you get this mindset shift, it changes everything.

What’s the Difference Between 2X and 10X Thinking?

Most people believe that big growth (10X) requires 10X the effort, stress, and complexity. So they aim for incremental growth (2X), thinking it’s the safer or more realistic approach.

🚀 This book flips that thinking on its head.

🔹 2X Thinking = Incremental growth

  • Trying to double your results by doing more of what you’re already doing.

  • Holding on to 80% of what you currently do, tweaking things slightly.

  • Leads to more busyness but not necessarily bigger impact.

🔹 10X Thinking = Exponential growth

  • Instead of working harder, you work smarter by focusing only on what creates massive impact.

  • You let go of 80% of what you currently do and focus on the top 20% that drives the biggest results.

  • Forces innovation, better systems, and delegation so you can scale without burning out.

Why 10X is Actually Easier than 2X

It forces clarity. 10X requires you to focus only on what truly moves the needle. You can’t afford distractions.
It simplifies decision-making. If something doesn’t align with your 10X vision, it’s an automatic NO.
It makes you leverage better systems & people. You start thinking Who can help me? instead of How can I do this?
You become future-focused. Instead of tweaking the present, you design your future and reverse-engineer your way there.
It removes complexity. 2X keeps you stuck in the weeds, while 10X forces you to focus on what really matters.

7 Big Takeaways from 10X Is Easier Than 2X

1️⃣ You must let go of 80% of what got you here.

  • To go 10X, you can’t just scale what you’re already doing. You need to strip back and focus on the few things that create massive results.

2️⃣ Your biggest transformations come from subtraction, not addition.

  • Growth isn’t about doing more—it’s about removing distractions and doubling down on what actually works.

3️⃣ The future dictates the present—not the other way around.

  • Most people think their future is built off their past. Wrong. Your 10X future is built by defining it first, then acting accordingly today.

4️⃣ 2X is just working harder—10X is working smarter.

  • If your current business, habits, and mindset can’t get you 10X, you need to reinvent how you operate.

5️⃣ Thinking 10X forces you to simplify.

  • Complexity is a symptom of incremental (2X) thinking. Exponential thinking removes friction and focuses on high-impact actions.

6️⃣ 10X growth isn’t just about business—it’s about identity.

  • The person who achieves 10X is not the same person who settles for 2X. You have to evolve first.

7️⃣ Your success depends on the right Who’s, not How’s.

  • You don’t have to do everything yourself. Find the right people, delegate, and elevate.

How 10X Is Easier Than 2X Relates to Living a Bucket List Life

Living a Bucket List Life isn’t about small upgrades—it’s about transformational experiences. If you’re thinking small (2X), you’ll never go all-in on your biggest dreams.

10X thinking forces you to remove what’s not serving you. You only have so much time—spend it on what truly excites you.

It’s all about leverage. Whether it’s in business, finances, or adventure—if you want bigger experiences, you need better systems and people to help you.

Design your future first, then work backward. The best way to live an extraordinary life is to start by defining it clearly.

Stay tuned for Book 36 of 52 as I continue this adventure of learning and growth!
