6 Ways To Use Bucket Lists To Affect Company Culture

November 23, 20232 min read

Being Founder CEO of Certified Bucket List Coaches® gives me a unique perspective into how our Coaches have used Bucket Lists to help businesses around the world become (what we call) a Bucket List Business™.  Integrating Bucket Lists into a company culture is a critical step to creating a Bucket List Business™.

Although our processes are more detailed, here are 6 ways we've integrated Bucket Lists to positively affect company culture:

  1. Share employee success stories: Sharing employee success stories is a great way to inspire others and create a sense of community. Share stories of employees who have achieved their Bucket List goals, and highlight how the program has positively impacted their personal and professional lives.

  2. Offer incentives for achieving goals: Offering incentives can help motivate employees to achieve their Bucket List goals. This could be something as simple as recognition in a company newsletter or a gift card for a favorite restaurant.

  3. Encourage ongoing goal-setting and progress tracking: Encouraging ongoing goal-setting and progress tracking is essential to maintaining momentum and achieving long-term success. The Certified Bucket List Coach® can work with employees to create a plan for ongoing goal-setting and progress tracking, such as regular check-ins or a shared tracking document.

  4. Make Bucket Lists a part of the performance review process: Making Bucket Lists a part of the performance review process can help ensure that employees are aligned with the company's goals and values. During performance reviews, managers can review progress on employees' Bucket List goals and discuss how achieving those goals has impacted their work.

  5. Incorporate Bucket List activities into team-building events: Incorporating Bucket List activities into team-building events can help foster a sense of community and camaraderie. For example, if a team member has a goal to learn a new language, the team could take a language class together.

  6. Host a company-wide Bucket List challenge: Hosting a company-wide Bucket List challenge can help build excitement and engagement around the program. This could be a competition to see who can achieve the most Bucket List goals in a given period, with prizes for the winners.

By integrating Bucket Lists into company culture in these ways, businesses can create a Bucket List Business™ that fosters employee engagement, motivation, and fulfillment. As employees work together to achieve their Bucket List goals, they can build stronger relationships, enhance their skills, and achieve greater personal and professional success.
